Hernán Cortés street, in El Puertito de Güímar; Next to the Fátima wake room, the vicinity of the Youth House, in Tasagaya, and the surroundings of the City Hall, in the urban area, the first four recharging points for electric vehicles promoted by the Güimarero Consistory are enabled.
The first deputy mayor, Airam Puerta, pointed out that the chosen locations are strategic. Each of the four stations has two chargers, which will supply energy to eight electric vehicles at the same time. The capacity of these semi-fast charging points is estimated at 22 kilowatts (KW), so the vehicle will complete the charge in 60 minutes, which provides a minimum range of 120 kilometers, according to the municipal government.
The Canarian company of charging points and photovoltaic energy, EAVE, installed the four stations. Its commercial director, David Machín, expressed his satisfaction with Güímar’s contribution to “eradicating the deficit of recharging points in the Canary Islands”. Councilor Airam Puerta stressed that the municipality “becomes a strategic connection point for plug-in vehicles between the capital and the south of the island.” To this he adds that “it will attract many citizens to our municipality moved by the need to recharge their vehicles.”
