A 44-year-old man, in critical condition after suffering an electric shock while working in Santa Úrsula

A 44-year-old man has been transferred in serious condition to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands after suffering an electric shock while working on a manhole on public roads. The event took place this Wednesday, around 11:09 am, on the Carretera España (Santa Úrsula).

According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of the Government of the Canary Islands (CECOES 1-1-2), the man was in cardiorespiratory arrest when the toilets of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) arrived at the scene.

After receiving the alert about the event, the necessary emergency services were activated: a sanitized ambulance and a medicalized ambulance from the SUC, the Civil Guard and the Local Police.

The SUC staff performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the man that had been initiated by other people who were at the scene. Once they managed to reverse the stoppage, the affected person was stabilized in the ambulance and transferred to the aforementioned hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.

Police officers collaborated with the health resources and carried out the corresponding procedures.
