The Civil Guard has arrested a middle-aged woman of Belgian nationality at the Tenerife South airport in whose luggage she was carrying 1.8 kilos of heroin hidden in two cereal boxes.
After passing to the disposition of the Court of first instance and instruction number 3 of Granadilla de Abona, she has been sent to prison, details sources from the armed institute.
The woman raised suspicions due to her nervous attitude in the baggage claim area.
A dog from the cynological group of the Customs Surveillance service trained in the detection of narcotics marked a suitcase in the car yard that had a sticker identifying the detainee.
Upon opening it, officers found two cereal boxes containing several pieces of a plastic-wrapped brown substance that turned out to be heroin, weighing 1,850 grams.
The owner of the suitcase was then arrested.
