SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 22 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Tenerife Canary Coalition will hold an island meeting this Saturday at the Teobaldo Power auditorium in La Orotava in which it will launch the ‘Tenerife Needs You’ initiative, a project with which Tenerife nationalists want to lay the foundations for what Tenerife will be from the future.
In this way, Tenerife nationalists will initiate an open dialogue with different areas and sectors of Tenerife society to project the island they want.
This initiative is a call made by the CC de Tenerife to fight against the immobility of the current governments and to “project the future together, seeking new solutions before the new realities that we suffer”, collects a note from CC.
The meeting, which will begin at 11:00 am, will bring together more than 700 people including members, affiliates and different public officials of the nationalists on the island, with representatives from all the municipalities of Tenerife.
In this insular meeting, the first held by the organization since the start of the pandemic, various positions from the organization will intervene, such as the national secretary general of the CC-PNC, Fernando Clavijo, the general secretary of the island of CC de Tenerife, Francisco Linares, and the national deputy, Ana Oramas.
Also taking part will be the Secretary of Organization of CC de Tenerife and regional deputy, Rosa Dávila, the nationalist spokesman in the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso, the secretary of Insular Policy of CC de Tenerife and mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, the spokesman in La Laguna, Jonathan Domínguez, the secretary for the local committees in the opposition, Ana Dorta, the secretary of Foreign Relations of CC de Tenerife, Dulce Gutiérrez, and the general secretary of Youth of CC de Tenerife, Serafín Mesa.
The island secretary general of CC de Tenerife, Francisco Linares, assures that the island “will not be the same” after this pandemic and the economic crisis.
“Given this new reality and the immobility of the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Government of the Canary Islands, which show a clear lack of projects and initiatives, we are going to start a project in search of new answers to build together the island that we want for the future. And we do it from the illusion, believing in the opportunities of this land, with nationalism as the idea that guides us and with the people, who are our reason for being, “says Linares.
