Town Hall of La Victoria de Acentejo. GIVES

Two former mayors of The Victory of AcentejoHarnoldo Martín (Canarian Coalition) and Fermín Correa (at the time in the PP), will be tried next Tuesday in the Criminal Court Number 2 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the alleged commission of a continued crime of administrative prevarication why the prosecution and the local lawyer Alfonso Delgado (on behalf of the private accusation promoted by the also former mayor of said locality Manuel Correa, of the PSOE) request for both a sentence of 10 years of special disqualification from the exercise of employment or public office.

The events date back to 2011-2013, when Harnoldo Martín was the mayor and Fermín Correa was the first deputy mayor and councilor for Social Welfare, thanks to the agreement between the CC and the PP that ousted the PSOE from the Mayor’s Office, although in 2015 Correa agreed with the socialists , which cost him the expulsion of his party a year later.

The indictments detail how, “simulating the figure of the minor contract to avoid a real ordinary labor contracting and thus avoid advertising in the contracts and the concurrence of candidates”, Fermín Correa would have contracted from the Department by finger with related in repeated occasions, despite the objections of the Comptroller, later raised by Harnoldo Martín as mayor, in a system that has been repeated in many municipalities of the Islands.
