A festive Shrove Tuesday but without the Apotheosis Coso and without a party in the streets of Santa Cruz made the amusement fair set up in the Palmetum car park become a focus of attraction for hundreds of people who overflowed the entrances to the fair.
After five in the afternoon, the time at which the enclosure, limited and with capacity control, opens its doors, the queues were already kilometers long, reaching the Tenerife Auditorium. A saturation that ended up affecting the traffic entering the capital, which was also slowed down from time to time. Some of those who attended the leisure area came in costume, and many came as a family to enjoy a festive afternoon in the capital.
The Santa Cruz Attractions Fair, which opened its doors last Friday in the parking lot located in front of the Parque Marítimo and the Palmetum, will remain open until March 20. In total there are 37 companies that have installed 60 attractions and a gastronomic area. The hours of this private promotion leisure project are from Sunday to Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; which will be extended until 11:00 p.m., on Fridays and Saturdays. Access to the recreational area is done directly, through a capacity control and the use of the mask and hydroalcoholic gel is mandatory.
With the suspension of the Carnival in this month of February, the carnival people have been orphaned of acts in which to enjoy, hence what happened yesterday was the closest thing to the celebration of a Tuesday of Carnival. On Monday night, the Local Police evicted the hundreds of people who gathered in the Parque Marítimo car park to celebrate Carnival Monday.
It will be in June when those most attached to the party can make up for it, as long as the sanitary conditions allow it, with the last weekend of that month dedicated to the party in the street, as if it were February, as has been announced the City Council of Santa Cruz, who wants there to also be a Piñata weekend on the first of July.
