SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 23 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has considered the Ministerial Order “magnificent news” that will allow students affected by the eruption of the La Palma volcano to have an exceptional status in the next EBAU tests.
Ángel Víctor Torres recalled that in December he transferred a group of students from La Palma that the Government of the Canary Islands would do everything possible so that their situation was taken into account at the EBAU, since they lost many classes due to the eruption.
For this reason, he stressed that this Ministerial Order, which will be adapted by the Canarian Government, will allow students from the José María Pérez Pulido, Eusebio Barreto and El Paso secondary schools to choose different options in 20% of the content of the tests.
Torres highlighted the sensitivity of the Government of Spain with the circumstances of the students of the Aridane Valley, who have shown their joy after hearing the news, and also conveyed their admiration to the teaching staff, the students and their parents because ” many of them, losing their homes, went to work in educational centers with tremendous psychological pressure”.
