The cold and snow once again mark today’s day on the peaks of the islands of Tenerife and La Palma, due to the DANA (Isolated Upper Level Depression) or cold drop that is affecting the Canary Islands in the last hours.
This situation has left a totally winter imprint in Las Cañadas, with Teide covered in snow from the peak to its slopes, and in the Izaña area. Due to this situation, the Cabildo de Tenerife Highway Service has reported the closure of two of the main entrances to the National Park, due to the presence of ice on the road.
This is the access via the TF-21 highway (La Orotava) in the section from Ramón Caminero as well as the TF-24 highway, in La Esperanza, at the height of Los Loros.
