The project to adapt and repair the Las Galletas pavilion includes, among other improvements, works to optimize the collection of rainwater with the installation of strategically located gutterss on the outside of the building, thus preventing its leakage. These will have an integral system that will guarantee the total impermeability of the surface, something that will be possible with the use of asphalt sheets and also avoiding metal materials. In addition, the replacement of the parquet and the fencing will be carried out for the practice of inline hockey.
José Julián Mena affirms that “the development of the Las Galletas pavilion is an important demand from our citizens.” Remember that these are facilities that are used “by hundreds of residents who deserve quality municipal infrastructure that meets their needs. And we are working on it without ceasing ».
The mayor of Arona explains that a these works join other “vital” works, alluding to the civic and cultural centers of Las Galletas and Buzanada, respectively, as well as the urban park of Las Rosas. For Mena, it is necessary to emphasize “that the important investment in public works that we are carrying out from the Arona City Council serves as a boost for the municipality’s economy, generating employment after a very difficult year and a half.”
Leopoldo Díaz Oda, the Councilor for Works, explains that the development of the project to adapt and improve the Las Galletas pavilion “is part of the process of creating and modernizing new sports facilities.” In this regard, it points out that the actions “include a series of actions that, in recent years, have led to the construction of the Valle San Lorenzo sports pavilion or the repair of the roof of the Jesús Domínguez Grillo complex.” The municipal government spokesman also recalls that at present «the reforms of the Antonio Domínguez Stadium are also being carried out, in Playa de Las Américas, as well as the construction of the new Valle San Lorenzo Sports City ».
