CC aims to persuade its PP allies within the regional government to overcome their hesitance regarding the establishment of a tax—not a fee—on overnight stays for tourists in hotel establishments, a concept that has so far been firmly rejected by conservatives. Nonetheless, the nationalists are confident that, gradually, they can sway the PP, as they have accomplished over the past two years of this legislative term concerning the Residence Law and the restrictions on the sale of properties to foreigners—issues initially dismissed by their partners but which they agreed to consider for potential inclusion in the resolutions of the nationality debate held in March.
