(Update: the number of migrants who arrived in El Hierro this Saturday has risen to 32 individuals)

Maritime rescue services discovered a Cayuco on Saturday carrying 32 migrants near the shores of El Hierro Island, as confirmed by the national agency to Europa Press.
The alert was raised by the 1-1-2 Canary Islands Safety and Emergency Coordination Centre, which reported that a call regarding a Cayuco was received via the El Pinar Antenna, on the island of El Hierro.
Consequently, Maritime Rescue deployed Helimer 204 and Salvamar Acrux, which located the vessel and escorted it to the port of La Restinga, where they arrived at approximately 5:20 p.m.
Once there, the individuals were assisted by the health and security personnel present in the vicinity.
