SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7th January (EUROPA PRESS) –
A total of 356 migrants were rescued in recent hours from four vessels in the waters surrounding El Hierro and Lanzarote, as reported by Maritime Rescue sources to Europa Press.
The first craft arrived on Monday night, following a day in which five rafts were intercepted and over 350 individuals were saved. This vessel docked at the port of La Restinga in El Hierro, escorted by the Salvamar Adhara, carrying 143 individuals, of whom 47 were women and 22 were minors.
Subsequently, during the early hours of Tuesday, two inflatable boats were retrieved in the waters near Lanzarote. One carried 72 men and a woman, while the other had 68 men on board, consisting of 65 from the Maghreb region and three from sub-Saharan Africa.
Furthermore, on the morning of Tuesday, the Salvamar Acrux assisted a raft located approximately seven miles south of the island, which had 75 people aboard, including two women, to reach the port of La Restinga.
