The reception by the City Council of Arona of the Partial Plan El Mojón enters a solution path, with the will of the Consistory and the new Compensation Board that the technicians of both parties are the ones who “fix the differences” that in August 2020 made this acceptance impossible, due to unfavorable reports from municipal technicians, specifically about the pumping station, a communication gateway and the two municipal parks that must be executed.

Mena gave details of the process, now judicialized, as requested by the opposition, although this was not satisfied with his explanations, nor Luis García, now a non-attached councilor, advanced any news about a building paralyzed for failing to comply, among other reasons, with the Law of Coasts.

Regarding the PGO review file, Mena briefly indicated that “the writing is in phase 2 of the draft of the strategic plan.”

Finally, the government group promised to convene the Urban Planning information commissions, “how could it be otherwise”, said its spokesman Leopoldo Díaz Oda, something that has not occurred since the crisis after the dismissal of Luis García. the opposition spokesmen recalled. Águeda Fumero (PP) insisted on the null transparency of the mayor and the “misrule” suffered by Arona.

More than 1,500 aroneros are trained in science and technology through the ULL

Promote early vocations in science and technology and the training of students, unemployed and entrepreneurs from Arona in both, as well as supporting local entrepreneurship, digital transformation and economic diversification of small and medium-sized enterprises in the municipality. These are some of the objectives sought by the ARN Innova program, whose agreement for the 2022-2023 period has been reviewed by the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena; by the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Raquel García, and by the director of the University Employment Agency, Leopoldo Benjumea.

ARN Innova is an initiative of the Arona City Council, in coordination with the University of La Laguna and its General Foundation, which has served more than 1,500 people during 2021, more than a thousand of whom belong to the educational centers of the municipality, one student body who has been offered training in science and technology. To the oldest, over 16 years of age, even in disciplines such as digital design, robotics or programming, subjects that have a significant cost in the market.

The program is divided into two blocks: the science and technology laboratory, which encourages interest in science and technology at an early age, and the promotion and support of entrepreneurs.
