SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 30 December (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Tourism and Employment Department of the Canary Islands Government will provide a grant of 800,000 euros to the Guía de Isora City Council (Tenerife) for enhancement work on the Playa San Juan promenade.

In an announcement, councillor Jéssica de León stated that “the aim of this project, which will be executed by the local council, is to restore and enhance this avenue, beloved by visitors and residents alike, ensuring the highest safety standards. The renovations will also incorporate new lighting fixtures.”

Additionally, the Government Council approved the credit extension during its meeting on Thursday, 19 December, to facilitate this initiative.

Furthermore, approval was granted for three projects aimed at boosting tourist areas, with a combined total exceeding four million euros.

Among these undertakings, two million euros were allocated to the municipality of Santiago del Teide, in Tenerife, for the refurbishment and enhancement of several streets in Puerto de Santiago.

The confirmation of a two million euro grant to the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, in Gran Canaria, was also sanctioned to modernise and expand the green spaces of South Park; along with a sum of 150,000 euros designated for the Tijarafe City Council, in La Palma, to develop the project aimed at improving access to El Porís de Candelaria.
