Arona began to show off the Christmas atmosphere yesterday afternoon with the official lighting of its main public roads, thus starting the campaign of municipal events and activities, which will give splendor to the Christmas festivities. AronChristmasdiscover the magic in our streets.

The opening ceremony of the traditional Christmas lighting yesterday had four stages: the lighting of the medians was activated around six in the afternoon from the tree on the Valle San Lorenzo bridge. The symbolic activation of the Christmas lighting in the rest of the municipality continued at seven on the Los Cristianos promenade (with the three wise men next to the usual Christmas tree); an hour later, on Central Street in Las Galletas, and at nine at night, in the church square of Villa Isabel de El Fraile.

In total, in the public areas of the municipality of 28 towns and enclaves, almost 1,650 Christmas decorations have been installed, distributed among curtains, thread, rosaries, motifs to place in street arches and on public lighting supports, representations of births, wise men and announcing angels in roundabouts. In addition, four large Christmas tree structures have been placed in Las Galletas and El Fraile, a set of three wise men 5 meters high on the Los Cristianos promenade and an illuminated dome about 150 meters long in the street. This lighting project is carried out by the Departments of Public Works and Services in collaboration with the Festivities area, the latter area that organized itinerant entertainment activities throughout the municipality to give even more shine to this lighting act that marks the beginning of the Christmas campaign in Arona. From that moment on, the activities and festive events will take place that will give content to these festivities led by different councillors.
