The Santa Cruz City Council, through the Youth area directed by Charín González, reported that the Lázaro-Siliuto Youth House has registered a successful influx in the first ten months of this year 2023, since it has received 7,349 applications for spaces in this property located in the El Toscal neighborhood, also taking into account that in the month of October alone 1,010 reservations were made, “which allows us to consider that it has become a meeting point for the youth of Santa Cruz ”González confirmed.
“During the month of October – added the Youth Councilor – 1,864 young people have used the different rooms of the House, of which 960 have been girls, 882 boys and 22 non-binary people” and she highlighted that “ “Users have reserved spaces on multiple occasions, which demonstrates the constant demand for this resource, which precisely highlights the effectiveness and regularity that it is beginning to have among this sector of the Chicharrera population.”
In terms of ages, young people between 16 and 18 years old are the most active, with 488 participants in October; who are followed by young people aged 18-25, with 323 participants. On the other hand, it must be understood that “the Lázaro-Siliuto Youth House attracts a wide range of ages, which undoubtedly provides an inclusive environment,” according to these figures and data.
What has to do with gender identity shows figures ranging from 49.2% of users, who declare themselves male; 48.6% are female, and 2.2% identify a non-binary gender identity, which allows us to affirm that gender diversity in the House is maintained in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Another section of those analyzed by the reference data obtained allows us to place those who are studying Baccalaureate at 58.1%, followed by the University Degree, with 19.2%, figures that also allow us to extrapolate this situation and It demonstrates that the House is a space for academic growth and continuous training.
The employment situation is another of the references extracted from the report provided by the Lázaro-Siliuto Youth House itself, highlighting that a very large majority of its users (84.2%) are students, while 6.4% They study and work at the same time. Precisely, it should be taken into account that the Youth House fosters an environment of learning and professional development, which is based on the compatibility of both exercises, both academic and work-related.
Other data collected affects the type of room requested, where the Studio/Meeting room is the most requested, with 30.7% of reservations, followed by the Recording Room (19.1%) and the Computer Room (18 .2%), so the spaces adapt to various needs.
