Canarian Coalition requests systems to reduce speed on the TF-82 highway

Canarian Coalition will present a motion at the next plenary session of the El Tanque City Council to improve circulation on the TF-82 highway as it passes through the neighborhoods of Erjos, Ruigómez and El Tanque Casco. The nationalists propose traffic control signs and speed reduction systems at key points on this road, of 48.7 kilometers in total, which goes from Icod de los Vinos to Armeñime (Adeje) and passes, in addition to El Tanque and the two municipalities where it begins and ends, through Garachico, Los Silos, Santiago del Teide and Guía de Isora.

The nationalist spokesperson in the Tankero municipality, Carlos Alegría, assures that “since the opening of the expansion of the Island Ring that goes from our municipality to Buen Paso, traffic through the aforementioned highway has increased exponentially, bringing with it an increase in the speed of users who pass through it.” . “This has brought,” Alegría continues, “severe consequences at the level of security, creating a serious risk for those neighbors who travel on sidewalks or other authorized areas, fundamentally in the section that goes from the entrance of the Ruigómez neighborhood to its square, in addition to the situation experienced at the CEIP Pablo Díaz Martín school (Ruigómez), with the consequent danger for the students on school days.

In this sense, The councilor of the Canarian Coalition explains that, in a recent meeting of the Councilor for Highways of the Cabildo, Dámaso Arteaga, with members of the local government in the vicinity of the CEIP Pablo Díaz Martín school, “the installation of traffic lights and radars was proposed with the aim of serving as speed inhibitors.” «However, given the inaction of the municipal government group of the PSOE“We have been forced to propose the installation of traffic lights and radars that will definitively eradicate this serious problem,” says Alegría.

Specifically, The tanker nationalists propose the installation of radars in the sections that run through the neighborhoods of Erjos and Ruigómez and the installation of two traffic lights, one at the pedestrian crossing located next to the Plaza de Ruigómez and another in front of the pedestrian crossing in front of the El Tanque Town Hall, in the town center area.
