The goal to achieve zero discharge on the coasts of the capital in 2025, progress continues, this time with the approval of the first phase of the work for the future pumping station in the area of Alisos, Añaza and Acorán. Emmasa, through Santacrucera de Aguas, will undertake the previous works this year in order to continue with the entire work in 2024, which, as a whole, will cost just over three million and whose objective is to connect this station of pumping to the collector of the Southwest.

As detailed yesterday by the first deputy mayor and mayor of Public Services, Carlos Tarife, “a very important work has been approved, which is expected to begin at the end of the year, to finish the work throughout 2024, in a that if we add it, to the one that is already being developed in Tachero, a small action that must be done in San Andrés, led by Anatolio Fuentes, and the completion of the work on the treatment plant, scheduled for September 2024, we can say that, if everything is finished on time, in the summer of 2025 Santa Cruz will recover the blue flag for its coastline ”.

Specifically, the Governing Board on Monday approved Emmasa’s request for the subcontracting of the merchant Santacrucera de Aguas. According to the report presented by Emmasa, an execution period of the works reviewed is estimated to be five months, with the budget offered being 484,032.34 euros, taxes not included.

In the case of the work on Anatolio Fuentes street, which is included in the zero discharge objective, it was put out to tender on July 6, but it has had to be put out to tender again as it was deserted. With a budget of 1.2 million, this intervention aims to put an end to the spill in the area of La Hondura. In this new tender, the budget and the technical project are maintained, although the term for consulting the specifications and submitting offers is extended. In the first contest, only 15 days were given, a time that seems insufficient for the bidders to be able to consult the specifications and prepare an offer. On this occasion, interested companies will have until September 11.
