SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Endesa has launched a reconstruction plan for the electrical infrastructure of La Palma affected by the fire that broke out early Saturday morning, which has consumed almost 3,000 hectares in the northwest of the island, as reported by the company in a note.

Of the 170 supplies that were left without voltage due to the fire, most of those that feed homes have already been restored. Some 50 are still pending between tool houses, warehouses and affected homes. The objective now is to rebuild the low voltage networks and be able to recover all the supplies as soon as possible.

Endesa has collaborated from the outset with the firefighting services and the advanced command post, as well as with the organizations and authorities represented therein, removing fallen cables and damaged supports after the advance of the fire and also anticipating measures to remove voltage and minimize electrical risk during extinguishing work.

The fire has not affected the island’s medium voltage network, but it has damaged the low voltage infrastructure. The first analyzes indicate that at least 170 low voltage supports have been affected and approximately 9 km of the networks they support.

On Sunday, e-distribución, the subsidiary of Redes de Endesa, already transferred to La Palma from other islands 100 poles and 9 km of low voltage cables of different sections which, added to the material already stored on the island, will allow the reconstruction of facilities damaged by fire. However, everything is prepared to move more material if necessary.

Endesa already has a team of 30 people working on La Palma to recover the supply, after reinforcing the device with personnel from other islands to advance in the reconstruction tasks of the damaged infrastructure which, according to estimates, will be completely rebuilt in about 3 weeks.
