SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
La Gomera has participated in the Expovacaciones 2021 fair, which is held between October 1 and 3 at the Bilbao Exhibition Center. The island participates with its own stand in the space dedicated to the Canary Islands in this event that is positioned as a stage to show the latest trends in the tourism market and offer experiences to potential tourists.
The island’s Minister of Tourism, María Isabel Méndez, highlighted the island’s presence at this event as an opportunity to continue working on the consolidation of national tourism in La Gomera. “This market has been one of the largest generators of tourists for the island during 2020, and it has reaffirmed its commitment to choosing La Gomera to spend their vacations in an environment in which outdoor activity, in full contact with nature is one of the main attractions, “he added.
Likewise, Méndez placed the Expovacaciones fair as one of the events set in the calendar of fairs set by the Tourism Area, and in which in its previous participation, more than 76 thousand people showed their interest in the activities that the Island hosts, especially those related to hiking, cycling and excursions by sea, as well as the varied accommodation offer, the Garajonay National Park itself and the island’s gastronomy.
In this edition of Expovacaciones, La Gomera joins the more than 160 exhibitors from different national destinations that the fair welcomes this year, as well as international countries and travel agencies. In this event all the novelties of the sector are presented, the latest proposals in routes and destinations, and the most innovative leisure and free time alternatives.
Thus, the island is committed to attracting a visitor profile that values and respects the natural environment, landscape, heritage, gastronomy and cultural traditions of Gomera, so it is a special occasion to move towards the consolidation of sustainable tourism .
