SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands has announced this Friday the publication of three new calls financed by the State Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, corresponding to the Sustainable Energy Strategy in the Canary Islands .
Through these lines of financing, the Ministry will allocate more than 80% of the credit granted to the islands for the strategy, 243 million euros, to promote shared self-consumption, energy self-sufficiency of public administrations and the decarbonization of the industrial sector in the islands.
The regional councilor, José Antonio Valbuena, explained that “these three subsidies will contribute to further accelerate the much-needed energy transition that has been announced since the Declaration of Climate Emergency at the beginning of the legislature and whose roadmap is established in the law that we approved Recently”.
In his opinion, “the energy challenges that lie ahead are quite ambitious and require a significant effort from all sectors, but this type of aid will provide significant support for industries, companies, the public sector and the population in who wishes to join this change of model”.
Applications for these three lines may be submitted from January 11 to April 11 and the execution of the eligible actions can begin on December 31, 2023 at the latest and be fully completed before April 30, 2024.
The final justification of the subsidies received will be presented before May 30, 2024, includes a note from the Ministry.
From the Ministry it is estimated that some 400 million euros of investment can be mobilized with these aids and that an increase of 220 megawatts of clean energy can be produced, depending on the percentage of financing accessed.
Valbuena stressed the importance of carefully reading the bases of each call to submit the applications with all the required and correctly completed technical documentation.
“All the grants will be awarded on a non-competitive basis, so if the application is submitted correctly from the beginning, it can be obtained more quickly,” he added.
SHARED SELF-CONSUMPTION AND ENERGY COMMUNITIES
The first of the announced calls has a total credit of 82 million euros and focuses on the promotion of shared self-consumption and the development of energy communities for different sectors, except the industrial one (since the land destined for this use has its own call).
The recipients of these aids may be natural and legal persons, whether or not they carry out economic activities, with or without profit, as well as renewable energy communities and communities of owners, among others, in accordance with the provisions of the regulatory bases of the call .
The eligible actions will be related to the implementation of renewable energies for electricity generation, the management of demand and consumption or the improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings (thermal installations for heating, cooling, automation systems).
Applications may be submitted until Tuesday, April 11, through the link https://sede.gobcan.es/sede/procedimientos_servicios/tramite….
DECARBONISATION OF THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR
The second call has been endowed with 74 million euros for land for industrial use, and more specifically for integrated renewable energy projects, the improvement of energy efficiency in the industrial sector and the development of energy communities in this area.
The recipients, in this case, would be the managers of industrial estates (public or private), companies renting or concessionaires for actions in the field of energy, individuals carrying out an economic activity, local Canary Islands entities or renewable energy communities.
Thus, comprehensive projects will be subsidized whose purpose is the incorporation of renewable electrical energy (photovoltaic, wind, biogas or mini-hydraulic), the generation and use of green hydrogen in this sector, comprehensive projects that are developed by energy communities in industrial estates or actions for the renaturation of the environment linked to the environmental renovation of affected areas, among others.
Applications may be submitted until Tuesday, April 11, through the link https://sede.gobcan.es/sede/procedimientos_servicios/tramite….
PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIONS
The third call has a total credit of 87 million euros and is intended to promote energy self-sufficiency of public administrations, distinguishing a generic eligible line (with 72 million) for the infrastructures of island councils, Canarian town halls, the public sector and universities, and another specific line (with the remaining 15 million) for actions in infrastructures linked to the water sector, contemplating in this case as beneficiary entities those competent in this matter.
The eligible actions in both lines have to do with the deployment of self-consumption facilities, the promotion of local energy communities in public buildings, the improvement of the energy efficiency of these buildings or energy self-sufficiency in the water sector.
Applications may be submitted until Tuesday, April 11 through the link https://sede.gobcan.es/sede/procedimientos_servicios/tramite….
