The Gáldar Gran Canaria he harvested a defeat this Saturday on his visit to the island of Tenerife to face Handball Tejina La Laguna. The Galdenses that little by little progress in their idea of the game managed to put the lagoons on the ropes, however, the greater effectiveness of the locals tipped the balance towards those of the City of Los Adelantado.
The match started with high intensity, a scenario in which Gáldar Gran Canaria felt very comfortable, developing counterattacks that on many occasions could only be stopped by fouls. The Galdenses took a 2-4 lead as the Tejina coach made several changes to slow down the visitors’ rapid transitions. Tejano control increased and Gáldar progressively lost the rhythm and effectiveness of the first minutes, reaching 10-4. Given the existing situation, the Gran Canaria had no choice but to go on the attack, managing to significantly reduce the difference until 12-11 that the electronic team showed at halftime.
In the second half, those of Aday Sánchez were in tow of the Tenerifeans, who were still ahead thanks to a great defensive work and the outstanding performance of the Brazilian Wilson De Lima. At the halfway point of the second period a score of 19-16 was reached. Gáldar Gran Canaria did not give up and tried until the end, having as a reference an inspired Alejandro Castellano who contributed 12 goals to the visiting scorers. But Tejina La Laguna knew how to close the game, showing superiority in the final stretch and leaving the score at 29-24.
Loss in the first of two away games for Gáldar Gran Canaria. Those of Aday Sánchez will return to training this Monday to prepare for next Saturday’s match against Balonman Chapela, the last classified in Group A of the First National – RFEBM.
