Titsa tests two electric vehicles of 12 and 18 meters to know their results on the lines of the Island. The Minister of Mobility and president of the company, Enrique Arriaga, explains that the routes are carried out without load and serve to measure the performance of the buses in the Tenerife orography.
The manufacturer Irizar has provided them for this initiative over the next few weeks. It will be from Monday, August 8 when they are already analyzed with passengers.
Arriaga points out that this initiative aims to measure the autonomy, power and performance of vehicles on some lines. This trial period “allows us to assess performance in order to determine the technical characteristics of future purchases and take new steps in achieving more sustainable public transport.”
The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, explains that it is necessary to carry out these tests to also know the needs of the electrical recharging infrastructures in the company’s facilities, as well as their maintenance. Tests are carried out, without passengers, on urban lines in Santa Cruz, La Laguna in the North and in the South Zone.
Titsa will analyze the power and performance of the service, autonomy, the ability to adapt to the environment or security.
