Base Football in Tenerife Experiences Disturbing Incident
The youth football scene in Tenerife has once again been marred by an unfortunate incident. On the evening of Friday, 29 May 2026, the football pitch at Tíncer was the site of a violent clash that forced the referee to suspend the match due to the severity of the events.
Tensions escalated when a group of fans invaded the pitch. From that moment on, the field became the setting for a disgraceful series of events involving shouting, punches, and falls among those present.
Currently, specific reasons or details surrounding the outbreak of violence have not been disclosed. This latest altercation further tarnishes the image of grassroots sports in the Archipelago, a troubling issue that has become increasingly common in recent times.
A Tense Match for Promotion
Friday’s match was not just any showdown. Two of the top teams in the league, Unión Deportiva Campana and Arcángel San Miguel B, were facing off. Both clubs had enjoyed an impressive regular season and were competing in the decisive playoff for promotion to the Cadete Preferente category.
The playoff was influenced by the result of the first leg, held on 24 May in southern Tenerife, where the sought-after southern team had triumphed convincingly with a score of three goals to nil (3-0).
