A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) and personnel from the Tenerife Fire Consortium recovered the lifeless body of a man on Monday in the Playa Los Roques area, in Los Realejos, a region that is difficult to access in Tenerife.
According to police confirmation, the individual is David Tanausú Real Martín, a 46-year-old man who was last seen on 13th July in La Laguna.
The discovery occurred around 09:10 hours, following an alert indicating the possible presence of a deceased person in a steep area. The firefighters who arrived at the scene confirmed the death and, after judicial authorisation, requested the body’s evacuation via air resources.
The GES helicopter descended with the assistance of a crane, alongside the firefighters, to lift the body and transport it to a helipad located at the El Peñón football ground in Puerto de la Cruz. There, the body was handed over to the judicial authority.
The National Police took charge of the procedures to clarify the circumstances of the incident, while the Local Police assisted by securing the landing area to facilitate the rescue operation.
David Tanausú had been reported missing the previous Saturday, which triggered a search operation. Authorities continue the investigation to determine the causes of his death.
