When the sun sets over the Atlantic and the temperatures soften, the squares and gardens of the islands transform.
There are no velvet seats or lights dimming in a closed room. Here, cinema unfolds under the open sky, beneath stars that serve as a ceiling and popcorn that tastes of salt air.
Summer in the Canaries not only invites you to the beach; it also brings stories projected in unexpected corners.
Culture unfurls like a white sheet where dreams, adventures, and emotions are imprinted.
From Lanzarote to Tenerife, outdoor screens offer more than just films: they propose a collective experience that combines art, fresh air, and community.
Cine Ambulante Lanzaroteño
The Tenique Cultural Association once again fills the nights of Lanzarote with light and cinema through its popular Summer Mobile Cinema.
This series will traverse squares, teleclubs, and open spaces of the island from early July to mid-August, screening films such as The Two Faces of Justice, The Girl with the Goat, and Half of Ana.
The programme will visit Arrecife, Tinajo, Haría, San Bartolomé, Teguise, Yaiza, and Tías, always with free entry and, as is tradition, popcorn for all attendees.
Screenings take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 9:00 PM, in locations such as La Harinera Square in Arrecife or the Playa Honda Wrestling Field in San Bartolomé.
Screenings at the Mencey
The iconic Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey Hotel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is repeating its commitment to free outdoor cinema this summer.
In the hotel gardens, you can enjoy The Devil Wears Prada on 10 July at 7:00 PM, while on 7 August, it will be the turn of Chef, a culinary proposal with a taste of a road movie.
In addition to the film, Mencey will offer a menu of snacks, popcorn, and drinks to complete the experience.
This summer cinema has become an unmissable event in the Tenerife calendar, providing a welcoming atmosphere and screenings that combine entertainment and quality.
Summer Young Laguna
In La Laguna, the Young Summer 2025 programme includes an outdoor cinema cycle as part of a broader cultural proposal for the youth.
The screenings are part of the Young Passport project: A Laguna Adventure, which also features concerts, workshops, excursions, and performing arts activities.
Among the films scheduled are Aquaman on 14 July in Punta del Hidalgo, Champions 2 on 3 August in Bajamar, and Barbie on 7 September.
In total, more than 60 cultural and recreational activities will take place in 21 Laguna neighbourhoods, with a physical passport that allows participants to collect stamps and enter raffles.
