Madrid/Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 9 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The Canary Islands will experience on Monday, February 10, predominantly clear skies with morning cloudiness on the northern and eastern slopes, gradually shifting to overcast conditions in the western islands by noon. The calima will remain light in the eastern province, becoming more pronounced in Mediaías, as reported by the State Meteorology Agency (Aemet).
The forecast does not dismiss the possibility of light and sporadic rain in the northern area of La Palma during the latter part of the day. For the remainder, temperatures are expected to see minimal changes, with a likelihood of slight frost in the central peaks of Tenerife.
Winds will be gentle, mostly from the Brisas regime, shifting to a northern direction in the later hours.
Increase in minimal temperatures across the mainland
This Monday, the minimum temperatures across the mainland will rise nearly everywhere, significantly so in the Pyrenees, with no alterations in Galicia and the archipelagos, while an Atlantic flow continues to affect the northern half of the mainland.
Maximum temperatures will also rise in the northern regions of the mainland, while the remainder of the territory will not experience significant changes, according to the forecasts from the State Meteorology Agency (Aemet).
This Monday, predominantly cloudy skies and rainfall are anticipated in the northern half, with greater intensity along the Galician coast and a lower likelihood in the northeast portion of the mainland. Precipitation will occur as snow in the mountains of the northern third, with levels above 1,600 m.
In other parts of the mainland and the Balearic Islands, high clouds are predicted, accompanied by intervals of low cloud and some light rain in the Strait. Possible mists and morning fog banks are also expected over large areas of the Atlantic side, particularly thick in the northern plateau.
Light winds from various directions are anticipated in the interior of the mainland, predominantly from the south. Moderate winds, with sporadic strong gusts, will occur along the coastlines, originating from the east in the Cantabrian region, the Strait, and Alborán, as well as from the south in Galicia and the remaining Mediterranean areas.
