Aemet announces snow this Friday in Tenerife above 2,000 meters


The Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet) foresees that late on Friday the rainfall will be in the form of snow on the peaks of Tenerife from approximately 2,200 meters in height, the same being less likely to happen on La Palma.

The metropolitan area and the east of Tenerife are on orange warning for heavy rains of up to 30 liters per square meter, the same as the island of La Gomera and the east of La Palma, while the rest of the three islands plus El Hierro there yellow notice.

The temperatures are decreasing and the wind will blow from the east component weak to moderate, turning and increasing in the afternoon to the northeast with strong intervals.

In general, it will be cloudy to covered, with rains that will be locally strong and may be accompanied by storms and there is a probability that the precipitations will be occasionally very strong on the north and east slopes of Tenerife, La Palma and La Gomera.
