Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 27th January (Europa Press) –
The president of the Canary Islands Government and General Secretary of the Canarian Coalition (CC), Fernando Clavijo, has assured this Monday the “support” of his party for the measures outlined in the Omnibus decree, which was rejected in Congress last week, expressing his hope for a “solution” to be found.
Speaking to reporters after participating in the forum ‘Dialogues to propel the Canarian business forward,’ organised by the Iberian press and the Grant Thornton 2024 group, he conveyed his confidence that the Government would reach decisions during Tuesday’s Council of Ministers meeting.
“We are not the ones who created the problem,” he emphasised, noting that both his party and the regional government back the increase in pensions, the provision of free public transport, and support for the reconstruction of the palm.
Referring to the Regional Congress of the PSOE, where the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, has been re-elected as Secretary General, he remarked that it was a gathering “to motivate the troops” within a “normal debate” of a congress, which is “essential” for the party’s dedication.
