Aena, the organisation overseeing the national airport network, is orchestrating a substantial investment in the Canarian airports to alleviate the congestion that several facilities are currently experiencing, which is leading to overcapacity issues. The renovation and enhancement projects will encompass all eight airports but will particularly target the two in Tenerife and Lanzarote that exhibit the most significant deficiencies. The overall anticipated expenditure, while subject to unforeseen circumstances throughout the project’s implementation, will undoubtedly surpass 600 million euros.
