This Thursday morning, Maritime Rescue apprehended a new canoe carrying a total of 67 migrants of sub-Saharan origin while they were navigating approximately eleven miles southeast of the island of El Hierro.
According to the national agency, it was the Salvamar Adhara that identified the unlawful vessel and conveyed its occupants to the La Restinga Dock.
The standard medical setup in such instances was prepared there, comprising personnel from the Red Cross and the Canary Islands Emergency Service, who attended to 64 men and 3 women.
