SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE Nov. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Maritime Rescue has aided a canoe carrying 136 migrants, which includes 32 women and 17 minors, in waters close to the island of El Hierro, as stated by the official body and the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre 112 of the Canary Islands.
The operation, overseen by the Tenerife Rescue Coordination Centre, was executed by the Adhara rescue vessel following the receipt of a report regarding a canoe approximately 18 kilometres (10 nautical miles) south of the port of La Restinga.
Once the cayuco was identified, the salvamar escorted the vessel carrying the migrants to the port, where they were met by the security and medical team, comprising personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), Primary Care, and the Red Cross. All individuals were assessed and deemed to be in generally good health.
