Tomorrow, La Granja de Santa Cruz park will transform into the hub of local cuisine, as it hosts the inaugural Tapas and Wine Fair. This event aims to combine the culinary arts with the exceptional wines produced in the region. Organised by the Development Society in collaboration with the Salud-La Salle district, the fair will feature 20 food stalls and 18 wineries from Tenerife, making it a significant economic revitalisation event from 6:00 p.m. until midnight.

Carmen Pérez, the CEO of the Development Society, shared with NOTICE DIARY yesterday that “this Saturday marks the debut of this fair, which will focus on the catering businesses in the Salud-La Salle area, while also highlighting the wines with designation of origin from our Island. It will be a wonderful opportunity to savour our culinary delights and aid in rejuvenating this central area.”

Zaida González, the councillor responsible for the Salud-La Salle district, mentioned, “This experience is part of the Enjoy your Districts initiative, which, alongside the Development Society and the support of the Cabildo, allows us to blend gastronomy with wine. The Island boasts six wine-growing appellations, which will collaborate with the specialised restaurants in the district. Altogether, there will be 20 establishments and 18 wineries providing tastings at very reasonable prices, ranging from 2 to 5 euros per tapa and between 2 and 4 euros for glasses of wine.”

In this context, the inaugural Santa Cruz Tapas and Wine Gastronomic Fair presents a chance for locals to explore a diverse assortment of culinary and cultural experiences throughout the day. This offering for the five senses will be enhanced by musical acts, starting at 6:00 p.m. with DJ Dalva, followed by the group Troveros de Asieta from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Los Lola from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., culminating with Picoco’s Band from 10:30 p.m. until midnight.

The event aims to create an experience where attendees can discover the flavours of the district through the varied offerings of participating businesses, all within a vibrant atmosphere enriched by live performances.

Photo Competition

In addition, there will be a photography competition where individuals can take a picture at the designated photocall in La Granja park and share it on the Development Society’s social media using the hashtag #VinosyTapasSaludLaSalle. Participants will enter a draw for prizes, including dinners, gourmet product hampers, and wines from Tenerife.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez emphasised yesterday that the aim of this first Tapas and Wine Fair is to “celebrate the abundant richness of our wines and local cuisine while supporting those who contribute to it, hence promoting commerce, the island’s wineries, and its various designations of origin.” He highlighted that “this will be a chance for citizens to partake in a grand outdoor celebration in a distinctive setting, where they can relish both Tenerife wines and various tapas prepared by participating establishments, all complemented by live music suitable for all ages.”

The Tapas and Wine Gastronomic Fair forms part of the Enjoy Promotion Programme in the Districts of Santa Cruz, which aligns with the Commerce Master Plan and the Strategic Tourism Plan.
