SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 September (EUROPA PRESS) –
A kayak carrying 20 migrants reached the island of El Hierro today, Saturday, adding to the 27 individuals who were rescued from another kayak that sank approximately 4 miles from Valverde.
According to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2, the kayak was apprehended by Maritime Rescue personnel after being spotted in proximity to the island.
The vessel was escorted to the port of La Restinga, where the occupants received assessments from the Primary Care health teams, the Canary Islands Emergency Service, and the Red Cross.
