Three-Year Sentence for Attempted Assault on Officers Following Car Theft

The Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has sentenced two individuals to three years and three months in prison after they stole a vehicle on the streets of Santa Cruz and attempted to run over multiple National Police officers. The incident unfolded at 4:00 p.m. on February 22, 2022, when the offenders, who had prior criminal records, forced the lock of a parked SUV, managed to start it, and subsequently fled.
