The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, argued that these actions will be an important complement to the work currently being carried out by the different security forces, especially by the patrols of the Laguna Local Police.
The councilor responsible for the Department, Ángel Chinea, pointed out that “these surveillance elements, which are already installed and will be launched in the coming days, will help us in exceptional coastal situations where bathing areas are closed and still exist. “people who ignore official recommendations and expose themselves to different risks.”
These cameras will be part of a large monitoring system that will allow the local Corporation to distribute the human resources available in emergency cases and act more immediately. However, the City Council remembers the importance of citizen collaboration when alerting about any security incident.
“This formula has already been tested in other parts of the municipality, as may be the case around the Quadrilateral, where it also acts as a deterrent for any act of vandalism on public furniture,” the councilor recalled.
