The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, emphasised yesterday the investment of 7 million euros that the Island Corporation is dedicating to the enhancement of the roads in La Laguna. This statement was made during her visit to the ongoing works on the TF-13 (Vía de Ronda) as it traverses Las Canteras, accompanied by the Councillor for Roads, Dámaso Arteaga, which was completed on Thursday evening, according to information from the Cabildo.
The island president articulated that “the collective projects we are executing on the TF-12 (San Andrés-La Laguna northern highway, Anaga dorsal or Taganana highway) and the TF-13 (Ronda Road) represent a total investment of seven million to enhance the safety of the roads in La Laguna.”
“The road surface at Las Canteras was in a very poor state, and we have now finalised this long-awaited project on a thoroughfare utilised by approximately 26,000 vehicles daily. We are referring to a crucial route for La Laguna that connects all the coastal regions of Valle Guerra, Bajamar, and Punta del Hidalgo, as well as Tegueste,” she explained.
Dávila pointed out that, “in conjunction with the improvements to infrastructures such as the extensive pedestrian ring road on Padre Anchieta, there exists a series of strategic enhancement measures in La Laguna that will serve the public. These actions will enable us to upgrade the road surface and, consequently, the safety conditions for users.” In addition, Dámaso Arteaga highlighted that “the enhancements on the intersection of the TF-13 at Las Canteras and the Vía de Ronda were essential.” “The works have been completed and involved an investment of around 300,000 euros. Furthermore, we must account for the improvements currently being made on the TF-12, where intermittent closures are taking place. We request understanding from users, as these interruptions are necessary to ensure the safety of drivers and the operators executing the work,” Arteaga clarified.
Tasks
The enhancement and rehabilitation works on the TF-13 island road as it proceeds through Las Canteras were executed between kilometre points 4+00 and 6+090. These works have equipped the road with improved safety features. Operations included milling and subsequent asphalting, as well as the pre-marking and final marking of the horizontal signage.
