Fog causing detours, flight cancellations, and delays at Tenerife North Airport

The operations at Tenerife North Airport are being heavily impacted by fog on Monday. Reports from Aena to Europa Press confirm that up to nine flights have had to be diverted and four flights cancelled.

Specifically, nine incoming flights had to divert to Tenerife South Airport. Among these were three flights from Madrid, two from Gran Canaria, one from Seville, one from Lanzarote, one from Barcelona, and one from Valencia.

Aena has stated that due to the fog, two inbound flights and two outbound flights to El Hierro and La Palma have been cancelled. Passengers are also experiencing delays of up to two hours.

With adverse weather conditions and low visibility prevailing at Tenerife North, Aena advises passengers scheduled to fly today to verify the status of their flight directly with the airline.
