Residents who are presidents of neighbourhood associations in the Los Gladiolos area have voiced their dissatisfaction after feeling ignored by the Councillor for Public Services of the city council, Carlos Tarife, on the 15th of July.
They were called by the Azorín Neighbourhood Association to address concerns regarding neighbourhood cleanliness and the existing issues in the area, however, they were taken aback when Tarife, who holds responsibility for this service, failed to attend as expected. Moreover, he did not provide any explanation to those present, indicating his lack of interest in resolving the problem.
In response, the councillor clarified to DIARIO DE AVISOS that he “was not formally invited to the meeting with residents, which was organised by the Azorín Association along with the head of the municipal cleaning company, Valoriza”.
“During the meeting, they contacted me to check if I could join, but I was occupied with other municipal affairs and couldn’t make it. Nonetheless, I want to reassure residents that I am always available in the neighbourhoods and any issues regarding the cleaning service will be addressed promptly. Measures have already been taken to enhance the cleaning of the area and provide organic waste containers,” he stated.
