SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tenerife Island Council is set to allocate 2.8 million Euros towards the Municipal Modernisation Plan for 2024 aimed at enhancing the services provided to the public.
Juan Manuel Santana, the Island’s Director of Human Resources, Public Service, and Digital Transformation, stated that “the Municipal Modernisation Plan has been jointly developed with the town councils of Tenerife, outlining the key actions and projects for the current year. The goal is to advance and solidify the digital transformation process, enhance the internal operations of municipal bodies, deliver improved services to the public, and foster the information society.”
Candelaria Padrón, the Councillor for Citizen Attention and Quality of Services, emphasized that this initiative is “a crucial element in ensuring effective public administration in Tenerife.”
Padrón believes that “the Municipal Modernisation Plan serves as a foundation and a tool for municipalities with limited administrative capabilities to provide high-quality services, meet the needs of the public, and guarantee that geographical location does not hinder access to services.”
The Municipal Modernisation Plan will be structured around four key areas in line with the Tenerife Island Council’s Modernisation Plan, encompassing 23 projects to upgrade the technological infrastructure of municipalities, enhance security, efficiency, and quality of public services. Ultimately, this will benefit both municipal staff and the residents of Tenerife.
This initiative is a part of the Tenerife Island Council’s Modernisation Plan for 2024-2027, currently in progress and nearing approval. The investment of 2.8 million Euros includes a contribution of one million Euros from the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR) grant for modernising the registry.
