The Civil Guard rescued a small boat with 79 people, one of whom was a deceased male, during the early hours of Thursday when they were less than a kilometer from Las Vistas beach in Arona (Tenerife).
Specifically, as reported by the Coordination Centre for Emergencies and Security of 112 in the Canary Islands and the Red Cross, the Civil Guard alerted 112 at 00:50, and the vessel arrived at Los Cristianos pier, where they were met by the Civil Guard, around 01:15.
Once at the pier, personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and Red Cross assisted 78 migrants, including ten minors – six boys and four girls – and two women. Of these, six individuals, including four minors, one woman, and one man, were taken to hospitals with minor illnesses.

Regarding the deceased male’s body found inside the small boat, SUC personnel could only confirm his death, while the National Police guarded the body, which was removed from the vessel by firefighters.
