The Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is seeking a four-year prison sentence for a man, originally from Melilla and now living in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife), for posting hateful messages on Facebook against Jews, the United States, and Israel.
The prosecution document, reported by Europa Press, states that there are a total of 54 public posts openly available with no restrictions, accompanied by photos and videos aimed at inciting violence, hatred, and discrimination.
Regarding the United States, for example, he sarcastically mentions the joy he feels on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York and the supposed peaceful nature of the country, according to former President Barack Obama.
“The only peaceful ones are your dead, you son of a b*tch,” he added alongside a ‘meme’ of the former president.
In the Palestine-Israel conflict, he attacks “Zionist rats” and “bastards,” posting a photo of the President of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, with his wife, saying “both he and his hideous wife are uglier than a sack of sh*t.”
He describes priests as “evil pigs” linking them to cocaine trafficking while wishing death upon jihadists: “What b*stards they are, a nice sharp bayonet to gut two or three of them and see them run.”
His social media messages also include incitements to violence such as several assault rifles with the comment “setting up a fair booth” or a video about how the Chinese government treats the Uigur religious minority.
The Prosecution deems the actions to constitute a crime of inciting hatred and also requests a fine of €1,620, professional disqualification for four years, and payment of legal costs.
