Some passengers of the island bus service in guaguas in Tenerife were taken aback by a heated argument during one of their journeys.
The incident took place on Wednesday night on one of the buses covering the 711 line, which connects Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Costa Adeje during the night or early morning hours.
The vehicle was heading south on the island. At one point, the driver realizes they had missed a stop where passengers were waiting. Therefore, he decides to turn back to pick them up.
According to sources from Titsa, at that moment a passenger stands up and starts to argue with the driver. Another Titsa driver who was travelling as a passenger on his way home after finishing his shift steps in to intervene. As clarified by Titsa, a driver must not be disturbed or lose focus as it endangers the safety of all passengers on the bus.
And allegedly, as stated by sources from the island transport company, the driver trying to prevent his colleague from being disturbed suffered an assault. And, as seen in the images, responded to it.
The Titsa employee involved filed a complaint for assault, as indicated by the company he works for. Titsa will consider conducting an internal investigation into the incident.
It is worth noting that all guaguas are equipped with security cameras.
