The 462 Squadron F-18 planes from Wing 46 at Gando Air Base will fly over Santa Cruz de Tenerife this Saturday, 18 May, in celebration of the Armed Forces Day. The event will also be repeated on the 26th in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

This information was provided by the Canary Islands Air Command, which added that the commemorative events have already begun and will involve the Army, Navy, Air and Space Force, the Civil Guard, and the UME.

Specifically, the F-18 jets will perform a flyover during the solemn flag lowering ceremony and tribute to the fallen in the capital city of Tenerife.

This action will be at all times controlled and coordinated with the relevant civil aviation authorities, strictly adhering to the safety requirements established by current regulations.

In this context, rehearsals will take place on 17 May in Santa Cruz (Avenida Marítima) and on the 24th at Las Canteras Beach in the capital of Gran Canaria.
