The Municipal Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife paused the latest food truck belonging to the renowned chef Dabiz Muñoz at approximately 12:30 yesterday due to a lack of traffic insurance. The innovative venture of the chef, Pollos Muñoz, known as GoXO corral, had just arrived on the island from Gran Canaria when it was intercepted by the officers on the extension of Tres de Mayo Avenue, close to the capital’s Interchange, as confirmed by sources from the municipal Security department.
The GoXo food truck had intended to set up at Plaza de El Corte Inglés on the 29th to showcase its cutting-edge menu until June 16. Instead, the food truck was impounded in the municipal warehouse until insurance documentation was sorted out and the requisite fine was settled, in addition to addressing the issue of incorrect signage of excessive length displayed by the vehicle, as evidenced by the worn-out lettering on its side plate.
Nevertheless, this was not the sole food vehicle intercepted by the Municipal Police in recent days. Last Saturday, local officers apprehended the rider of an electric scooter who was meandering through the city centre erratically, carrying a package at the base which is against regulations for this category of personal mobility vehicles (PMV).
The Municipal Police issued a statement through its official channels, stating that the delivery man was transporting goods from one bar to another over a distance of 3 kilometres. A fine of 200 Euros was imposed for breaching Traffic Regulations, along with the necessary reports filed with Public Health and the City Council.
