The Tenerife tram will be altering the services of Line 1 over the upcoming weekend. Modifications are not just due to a demonstration advocating for a new tourism approach in the Canary Islands, but also because of a sports event.
This Sunday, on April 21, the Bicentennial charity race of the National Police ‘Ruta 091’ will be taking place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This event will result in the closure of the Fundación and Intercambiador stops starting from 11:30 a.m.
Therefore, during the duration of the race, trams will only run between La Trinidad and Teatro Guimerá.
Prior to the charity race, Line 1 will operate normally and services will resume at the conclusion of the event, with approval from the Local Police, around 1:00 p.m.
Tram Amendments for Saturday
This Saturday, April 20, there will be similar changes: the Tenerife Tram will extend its services to the Plaza de la Paz stop one hour before the planned commencement of the demonstration advocating for a new tourism model in the Canary Islands.
From 11:00 a.m., the stops at Plaza Weyler, Teatro Guimerá, Fundación, and Intercambiador will be non-operational.
Normal tram services will resume on the entire line upon approval from the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Alterations to the bus services
Titsa has also declared adjustments to five of its bus lines and the closure of several stops for this Saturday. From 11:00 a.m. until the end of the demonstration, lines 902, 904, 905, 912, and 914 will be impacted.
Moreover, temporary closures will occur at stops including Weyler, Plaza Militar, Capitanía, Parque García Sanabria, Méndez Núñez, El Pilar, Plaza del Príncipe, Villalba Hervás, La Alameda, Plaza de Isabel II, La Marina, 25 de julio, Buenos Aires, Manuel Hermoso Rojas, José Emilio García Gómez, La Salle, and Colegio La Salle.
