A violent incident took place on Tuesday night in Santa Cruz de Tenerife when a Local Police officer, who was patrolling on a motorcycle along Suárez Guerra Street, was assaulted. According to reports from the municipal department, a 64-year-old man, identified as I.M.F., stood in the officer’s way, forcing him to stop. Without warning, the aggressor struck the officer in the side, causing both the officer and the motorcycle to fall to the ground. After the attack, the man tried to escape from the scene.
Bystanders who witnessed the incident assisted additional police units in locating the assailant at Ireneo González Square. Confronted by more officers, I.M.F. attempted to attack again but was quickly subdued and handcuffed due to his resistance.

The affected officer was taken to a medical facility, where multiple fractures in a foot were confirmed due to the fall. Meanwhile, the assailant was taken to the police station to face legal proceedings. This incident underscores the risks that police officers face in their daily work to maintain public safety.
