The Tenerife tram service will be impacted by the demonstration that will take place this Saturday, 20th of April along the main streets of Santa Cruz, called throughout Canarias to defend the Archipelago from the excessive exploitation of the tourist sector.
Although the planned route does not coincide with the tram line in the city centre, it is expected to interfere with the normal service operation. The start of the march is scheduled at Plaza Weyler, an area that could attract thousands of people before the start of the demonstration.
To avoid risks to citizens and passengers, Metropolitano de Tenerife has decided to interrupt the service at that stop and the subsequent ones, meaning tram line 1 will only operate between Trinidad and La Paz from eleven in the morning onwards.

Therefore, stops at Weyler, Teatro Guimerá, Fundación, and the Intercambiador will be out of service. Metropolitano de Tenerife informs that the full route will resume as soon as the National Police officers responsible for ensuring the demonstration’s security authorize it.
Metropolitano de Tenerife states, “We regret any inconvenience that these temporary interruptions during the weekend may cause and we appreciate your understanding.”
