SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14th April. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The permanent leadership of the PSOE Canary Islands, alongside its regional authorities, have decided that their own civil servants and supporters will have the autonomy to choose whether to join the protests scheduled for the upcoming 20th on various islands under the slogan ‘The Canary Islands have a limit’.
In a press release, the PSOE has mentioned that it respects and fully supports the reasons behind these demonstrations, “always advocating for sustainable tourism that respects our land; tourism dedicated not only to excellence but also to the advancement and welfare of the Canary Islands, by promoting wealth distribution and collective negotiations to enhance the wages and conditions of workers.”
Following this direction, the Canary Islands socialists affirm that they are and will continue to be “completely devoted” to responsible strategies aligned with the party’s electoral manifesto. Such as the tourist levy, which they recently formalised as a parliamentary proposal, and other initiatives that will be unveiled shortly.
“We believe it is the moment to proceed. The time for choices,” they emphasise.
