The La Laguna City Council, under the Works and Infrastructure Department, has established a temporary parking facility near the San Miguel de Geneto Citizen Center. The purpose is to increase the parking capacity in the area to meet the demands of users, including visitors to the new children’s and dog park as well as the Citizen Center itself.
“The newly opened parking facility provides 70 spaces for visitors of the San Miguel de Geneto Citizen Center and the new park. It also aims to offer parking for the local residents, especially during the works by The Red Eléctrica on Afrodita Street, which will reduce the available parking spaces due to lane closures,” stated Mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez.
Councilor for Works and Infrastructure, Ángel Chinea, emphasised the council’s efforts to address the continuous demand for parking in all neighbourhoods and towns of the municipality.
The councilor highlighted that the council’s goal is to create 7,000 new parking spaces across the municipality. Significant progress has already been made in the first year of their mandate, with the adaptation of public spaces in areas such as San Bartolomé de Geneto, La Hornera road, Vallehermoso avenue, Milan avenue (Tejina), República Argentina avenue, and La Villa road.
